Borobound gives New Yorkers an easy way to plan their weekend, learn about local events, and explore their surrounding boroughs.  The site was created in early 2009 by Benny Wong and Jonathan Wegener, formerly college roommates at Columbia.

Each weekend, New York is home to dozens of fantastic local events, many of them free.  To name a few: Winter Jam NYC, Brooklyn’s Atlantic Antic, Flushing’s Lunar New Year Festival, Staten Island’s Disco Skating Rollarjam, Brooklyn’s Idiotarod shopping cart race, and Improv Everywhere’s classic no-pants subway ride.  But without a good source of local information, most people only hear about these events from the next day’s newspaper!

New York City is a big place and finding local information on the internet is harder than it should be.
